MEMBERSHIP TERMS OF AGREEMENT
For Indie Authors of Camley Publishing Welcome to Camley Publishing—where Indie Authors build, grow, and connect.
Before you begin, we want to be clear about what this space is—and what it is not. Our goal is to support you fully while honoring your independence as an author. YOU ARE AN INDIE AUTHOR At Camley Publishing, you are part of a powerful network of Indie Authors. This means: You are fully independent You are not employed by Camley Publishing.
You are not contracted by Camley Publishing. You are not a representative of Camley Publishing, except when contracted through a specific Camley Publishing contract. Authors are not paid by Camley for their works, and submission or inclusion of your work on the Camley platform does not indicate or constitute a publishing contract with the company. You remain in complete control of your work, your voice, and your brand. YOU OWN YOUR WORK—FULLY.
Everything you create belongs to you. You retain full copyright ownership of your work. You maintain control over your intellectual property. You keep 100% of your sales and revenue from your Indie Shop. Camley Publishing does not take royalties or commissions from your independent published works or your store inventory.
Your work reflects your voice, not the views of Camley Publishing.
PAID CAMLEY PROGRAMS (SELECT OPPORTUNITIES)
From time to time, Camley Publishing may offer paid opportunities for Indie Authors, including submissions such as: poems, short stories, flash fiction, and essays. These opportunities are governed by separate, specific agreements. In these cases, Authors are paid a flat rate for work accepted and approved for publication under the Camley Publishing imprint. Camley Publishing will retain publication rights to the purchased pieces and works published under the Camley Publishing imprint may not be republished or redistributed by another print or online publisher, exception by acquisition from a traditional publisher. If an Indie Author later secures a contract with a traditional or industry publisher, the previously published work may be redistributed as part of a larger body of publication. The new publisher must acknowledge Camley Publishing as the original publisher by listing: “Originally published by Camley Publishing” in the latest published copy.
HOW MEMBERSHIP WORKS
Your membership is designed to be flexible and author-centered. Membership is auto-renewed unless you cancel. You may cancel, upgrade, or downgrade your plan at any time. Memberships are non-transferable. Each account is for one Indie Author only. Camley Publishing provides services based on your selected membership tier. Outside of paid memberships, additional services are provided with full disclosure of their costs and details.
USING YOUR AUTHOR SPACE
As an Indie Author, you may: Promote your books and products, build your brand, connect directly with readers, submit original works for publication through the Camley Publishing imprint, and participate in Camley’s growing author community. Authors are responsible for: The creation, fulfillment, and shipping of their products, maintaining accurate and lawful content, obtaining copyright to protect their intellectual property, and adhering to the service guidelines of the company. We ask that all authors use the platform responsibly, ethically, and professionally.
YOUR DATA AND YOUR READERS
We respect your audience and your information. Lead contact form data belong to you and Camley Publishing. Camley Publishing does not sell or share author or reader information outside of the company. Your audience remains a valuable part of your author journey. Authors will receive a monthly electronic spreadsheet with collected customer contact information obtained from their author page contact form. Authors can request additional copies of the report at the fee determined by Camley Publishing.
PAYMENTS, TAXES, AND REPORTING
For any paid Camley Publishing programs: Authors will receive a 1099 tax form where applicable. All reportable earnings are submitted in accordance with IRS requirements. Authors are responsible for managing their own tax obligations. Camley Publishing does not employ authors or employees designated by law as those requiring a W2.

Camley Publishing is here to support—not control—your publishing journey. We provide: A platform to showcase your work, tools to help you grow your visibility, and customer service support to address your publishing needs.
WHAT CAMLEY DOES NOT PROVIDE
To maintain clarity and transparency: We do not provide legal advice or services. We do not guarantee sales or success. We do not act as your publisher or agent (except in separate contracted agreements). We do not provide tax services or advise on how to prepare your 1099.
PROTECTING THE COMMUNITY
To keep this space strong and credible: Authors are responsible for their own content. Content must be the author’s original content and must not violate laws or copyrights. Camley reserves the right to remove harmful and or inappropriate material, and material that violates another author’s or artist’s intellectual property.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Camley Publishing is committed to supporting its Indie Authors and working in good faith to build strong, professional relationships. In the unlikely event of a dispute: Both parties agree to pursue collaborative resolution first. If necessary, disputes will proceed to mediation before any legal action is taken by either party. Camley Publishing will make every reasonable effort to resolve concerns in a fair and constructive manner.
Camley Publishing was built to create space for Indie Authors—not to take ownership of them. You bring the work. You bring the voice. You keep the rights. You keep the revenue. We provide the structure, the support, and the space for it all to grow.
Exclusive Rights and Intellectual Property
Camley Publishing is committed to protecting the creative ownership and intellectual property of every author within its network.
Independent Author Works
Authors who publish, display, or sell their work through the Camley Publishing platform retain full and exclusive ownership of their intellectual property. Camley Publishing does not claim, assume, or retain any rights—exclusive or non-exclusive—over independently published works. Authors maintain complete control over their content, including but not limited to reproduction, distribution, licensing, and future publication opportunities.
Camley Publishing Agreements
In instances where an author enters into a formal publishing agreement with Camley Publishing, rights to the work will be governed by the terms outlined in that specific contract. Under such agreements, Camley Publishing and the author may share certain rights necessary for publication, production, distribution, and promotion of the work. These shared rights are established solely for the purpose of executing the publishing agreement and do not negate the author’s original ownership.
Unless otherwise stated in a written and executed publishing contract, inclusion of a work on the Camley Publishing platform does not constitute a transfer of rights, an exclusive agreement, or a publishing contract.
Author Assurance
Camley Publishing affirms that all rights not expressly granted in a signed agreement remain solely with the author. Authors are encouraged to review all publishing agreements carefully to understand the scope and duration of any rights granted.

Does Camley ever pay authors?
Yes—through select paid programs.
What kind of work is accepted in paid programs?
Typically: poems, short stories, flash fiction, and essays
What happens when my work is accepted?
You receive a flat-rate payment. Camley receives exclusive publishing rights for that piece.
Can I publish that same piece somewhere else?
No. Once purchased by Camley, that piece cannot be republished online elsewhere. Are there any exceptions? Yes. If you later secure a traditional publishing deal: Your work may be republished as part of a larger project. The new publisher must credit: “Originally published by Camley Publishing.”

Here’s what you need to know as a member of our community:
Free Access
You can explore the Camley platform free of any fees. Creating an account is free and allows you to join book clubs, engage with authors, and participate in reader experiences.
Joining a Book Club
To participate in an author’s book club, you must purchase the book directly from that author’s website. Readers enrolling in the bookclub will receive a discount on the book select. The individual author determines the discount of the book’s purchase price.
Camley Publishing does not sell books—we simply provide the space for connection.
Supporting Indie Authors
All authors in the Camley Authors Network are independent. When you purchase from them, you are supporting their work directly. Camley Publishing does not receive any monetary compensation from the sale of an author’s work.
If you ever have an issue with a purchase:
- First, contact the author directly. Camley is very intentional in building relationships. Our authors are vetted not only based on their work, but their sense of integrity to their customer base. We are confident that if you are dissatisfied, our authors are willing to work with you to ensure your concerns are addressed to the mutual benefit of both parties.
- If needed, Camley can help support a resolution. Please email us at CustomerService@CamleyPublishing.com and include the details of your concern. Please include the Author’s name and details about the purchase as well as the attempts to resolve the matter with the author. We typically will respond to your concern within 48 hours.
Refunds on products are available within 30 days of delivery. Refunds on books are given at the discretion of the author. Please be sure to read the author’s refund policy before purchasing. Camley Publishing stands by the authors in our network and will support their posted refund and or return policies.
Respecting the Work
All books and materials listed on the Camley Publishing website are protected by copyright.
Guests and visitors of the site may not copy, share, or redistribute any content without the author’s written permission.
Community Expectations
Camley is a respectful, inclusive space.
We do not allow:
- Bullying or harassment
- Threatening behavior
- Discriminatory or offensive language
Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the platform.
Sharing Your Voice
We encourage you to:
- Share reviews
- Post your thoughts
- Celebrate the authors you enjoy
However, readers are not compensated for reading or reviewing unless agreed upon in writing.
Your Account
You are responsible for keeping your account login information secure and accurate.
A FINAL NOTE Camley Publishing exists to support Indie Authors—not to control them. You own your work. You build your brand. You grow your audience. We provide the space to make it happen.
